IRANIAN FASHION
Not all draped in black. Colourful fashion thrives in Iran despite post-revolutionary restrictions and, it’s not hard to see why. In antiquity, Persians were famed for refinement and a taste for luxury - an enduring influence seen in everything from architecture to the design of its renowned textiles, handicrafts and carpets. Appearance also plays a more central role in Persian culture than Iranians may perhaps care to admit. Add to this a rich textile tradition, a sophisticated consumer market and a large, youthful population seeking avenues for creative expression, and you have all the ingredients of a dynamic and evolving fashion scene.
