A land of music lovers. Music lies at the heart of Iranian culture and social life, closely intertwined with a deep-rooted love of poetry, dance and joyful gatherings. Traditional styles vary by region, but often feature solo vocals, frequently drawing on the works of mystical poets such as Rumi or Hafez - accompanied by instruments like the santur, ney, tombak and daf.
